Laurentia has a dedicated Governing Board. New members of our governing board are elected each year at the General Assembly held in September. In addition to the 6 parents, there are 4 teachers, a daycare representative and the school principal who sit on the Governing Board. In addition to the General Assembly, 5 meetings of the Governing Board are held throughout the year. This year meetings are scheduled as follows: Oct. 23, 2012, Dec. 3, 2012, Jan. 15, 2013, Feb. 11, 2013, Apr. 15. 2013, May 27, 2013.
We have a Parent Participation Organization (The PPO) that works hard to contribute to our school by fundraising or initiating projects such as improving our environment. The PPO also contributes to a very successful staff appreciation week, special activities for seasonal events, the Year Book and our Fun Day. The PPO is open to all parents and we encourage their participation.
